The combat log archive analyses combat logs from World of Warcraft in two stages: first the code calculates every quantifiable value, then an AI interprets the results and identifies the causes of a failed attempt.
Before each assessment, the AI receives a guide to the boss or dungeon in question. Spell usage is compared per specialisation with the top-ranked logs of the current season.
Follow-up questions can be asked in a chat, and the answers refer to the specific fight. Not every type of encounter is detected reliably yet; the common cases are covered.
